{"id":4240,"date":"2023-05-28T09:29:54","date_gmt":"2023-05-28T09:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pahiloclick.com\/english\/?p=4240"},"modified":"2023-05-28T09:55:35","modified_gmt":"2023-05-28T09:55:35","slug":"govt-recommends-resham-chaudharys-presidential-pardon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pahiloclick.com\/english\/2023\/05\/28\/govt-recommends-resham-chaudharys-presidential-pardon\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt recommends Resham Chaudhary\u2019s presidential pardon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Kathmandu, May 28 : The government has recommended that Tikapur killing convict Nagarik Unmukti Party leader Resham Chaudhary get released from prison through a presidential pardon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A cabinet meeting held on Sunday morning made the decision, informs the government spokesperson Rekha Sharma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the plan, Chaudhary would be released on Monday on the occasion of Republic Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, the President\u2019s Office sent back a file in this regard sent by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the ministry, asking the ministry to forward it to the cabinet for a further decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chaudhary has been proven guilty of the murder of some police personnel in Tikapur of Kailali in 2015. He is serving his sentence at Dillibazar Prison in Kathmandu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On May 16, the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Dipayal High Court to sentence Tikapur incident convict Resham Chaudhary to life imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, the government had been trying to get him out as it introduced a new bill with the aim of releasing him on May 11.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, May 28 : The government has recommended that Tikapur killing convict Nagarik Unmukti Party leader Resham Chaudhary get released from prison through a presidential pardon.
